Fuentes had an MRI on his back yesterday that came back free and clear. The Twins expect him back on the mound during the six-game road trip that begins Friday in Cleveland.

The Twins honored Morneau (DL: concussion) yesterday as the teams nominee for the Roberto Clemente Award, given annually to the player who displays excellence on the field and in the community. Morneau has not played since July 7, but said that he is optimistic he will return this season.

Duensing (8-2, 2.02 ERA) allowed one run and struck out seven Royals' batters over eight innings yesterday as the Twins beat Zack Greinke and KC, 4-3. Duensing has allowed one earned run or fewer in four of his last five starts. He faces the White Sox, against whom he has a couple wins, next.

Josh Tomlin (P-CLE)
Tomlin threw his second straight quality start yesterday against the Angels, allowing three runs on three hits with two walks and four strikeouts over six innings. He did not get a decision in the 16-inning loss. Tomlin has a 4.18 ERA in eight starts.

Hardy went 2-for-3 with a HR (6) and two runs scored last night against the Royals. He had gone 18 games without a homer, but he is batting .444 (8-for-18) over his last six games. He is batting .266 on the season.

Trent Oeltjen is the newest Dodger after having his contract purchased from Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday to replace Ronnie Belliard, who was designated for assignment. Oeltjen, 27, bats and throws left-handed. He hit .347 in 49 games at Albuquerque after joining the club at midseason, when he opted out of a contract while playing for Milwaukee's Triple-A affiliate.
