Yahoo sports is reporting that Freese had minor surgery to his left ankle after the club previously announced he was out for the season following right ankle surgery.

Trever Miller (P-STL)

Miller underwent an MRI on his left forearm strain and is considered day-to-day.

Jim Thome (DH-MIN)

The Twins scratched Thome from Wednesday's lineup because he had a mild abdominal strain. The team said that the move was for precautionary reasons and that Thome is day-to-day.

Brian Fuentes (P-MIN)

Fuentes had an MRI on his back yesterday that came back free and clear. The Twins expect him back on the mound during the six-game road trip that begins Friday in Cleveland.

Justin Morneau (1B-MIN)

The Twins honored Morneau (DL: concussion) yesterday as the team’s nominee for the Roberto Clemente Award, given annually to the player who displays excellence on the field and in the community. Morneau has not played since July 7, but said that he is optimistic he will return this season.

Brian Duensing (P-MIN)

Duensing (8-2, 2.02 ERA) allowed one run and struck out seven Royals' batters over eight innings yesterday as the Twins beat Zack Greinke and KC, 4-3. Duensing has allowed one earned run or fewer in four of his last five starts. He faces the White Sox, against whom he has a couple wins, next.

Josh Tomlin (P-CLE)

Tomlin threw his second straight quality start yesterday against the Angels, allowing three runs on three hits with two walks and four strikeouts over six innings. He did not get a decision in the 16-inning loss. Tomlin has a 4.18 ERA in eight starts.

J.J. Hardy (SS-MIN)

Hardy went 2-for-3 with a HR (6) and two runs scored last night against the Royals. He had gone 18 games without a homer, but he is batting .444 (8-for-18) over his last six games. He is batting .266 on the season.

Aaron Cook (P-COL)

Aaron Cook has been diagnosed with a non-displaced right fibula fracture.

Troy Tulowitzki (SS-COL)

Troy Tulowitzki went 3-for-4 with two homers and four RBI in Wednesday's win over the Reds.

Andrew Miller (P-FLA)

Andrew Miller was shelled for seven earned runs in four innings Wednesday as the Marlins fell to the Phillies.

Josh Johnson (P-FLA)

Josh Johnson underwent an MRI Wednesday that showed right shoulder inflammation and a mid-back strain.

Since joining the White Sox, Manny Ramirez already has been hit by a pitch four times. He was hit twice during Tuesday's 9-1 loss but was back in Wednesday's starting lineup.

He hit .347 in 49 games at Albuquerque after joining the club at midseason, when he opted out of a contract while playing for Milwaukee's Triple-A affiliate.

He has gone 4-7 with a 4.98 ERA in 16 starts since beating the Red Sox, 11-0, with a two-hitter in early June. He has allowed a total of three runs over 20.2 IP in his last three starts.

Lou Marson (C-CLE)

Marson went 1-for-4 and broke last night's game open in the sixth inning with his first career grand slam. The Indians beat the Angels, 6-1, and he is batting .190.
